For many months now, Carpentry and Electrical Technology students from Plymouth-Bristol Regional Technical High School have been building a garage behind the Middleborough Police Station for the station’s use, alongside AP Whitaker Commercial Construction. Not only will this greatly benefit the local Middleborough police force, but it has also provided a hands-on learning experience for these high school students. While constructing this garage, they were given access to firsthand knowledge of on-the-job skills and attention to detail. For both the garage and the police station, of which construction has been recently completed, Mid-Cape supplied a majority of the materials. Team members at our Middleborough store became very familiar with seeing these high school students’ faces on a regular basis as their instructor took them in to show them how to choose materials for their project.

Mid-Cape places heavy emphasis on investing in our youth. Each young person deserves an ‘Experience that Builds’ and we are honored to have had a part in providing that for them, for they are the future of this industry. On Thursday, June 13th, many members of our Middleborough location joined  members of the Middleborough police force in commemorating the students’ hard work and dedication. Mid-Cape brought lunch and swag for the kids as well!

We are so proud of what these high school students have accomplished, and grateful that we have been able to have a hand in it and be a source of inspirations for them. Mid-Cape Sales Manager, Peter Furia, said this: “As young people, you should understand that as you continue your career, hopefully in the trades, you’ll be able to drive by things and for generations be proud of something that you were able to do, So, congratulations to you guys!”

Thank you students and faculty at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical HIgh School and to the MIddleborough Police Department. It’s all about teamwork and community!
