Falmouth Matters. This Year. Every Year.

Those local to the Falmouth area have seen the effects of the work that is done through The Falmouth Fund. It could be considered the backbone of the Falmouth community in many ways. The Falmouth Fund was established at The Cape Cod Foundation in 2009 by a group of dedicated residents who wanted to support the community. Each year, its volunteer Advisory Committee actively fundraises to provide grants to multiple nonprofit organizations to help meet the current needs of the Falmouth Community. Each donation also aids in building the Fund’s endowment to ensure there are resources for the future. Over the past decade, the fund has awarded nearly $600,000 in grants to more than 70 organizations. It has funded a broad range of projects and programs in the following areas: education, health and human services, arts and culture, and the environment.

“It has helped bring equipment, resources, and opportunities to seniors, women in transition, and those with disabilities. It has helped build playgrounds, send kids to camp, and fund busses for field trips. It has helped preserve historical buildings and precious open spaces. It has supported talks, concerts, film festivals, and new theatrical works. Because of the generosity of the community, The Falmouth Fund has done so much. With continued support, it can do so much more.”

“When you donate to The Falmouth Fund, you are not only helping multiple nonprofit organizations serving Falmouth each year, but also helping to ensure there are resources for the future.”

The Falmouth Fund has accomplished so much in its first ten years. In the next decade, the Advisory Committee hopes to support the capacity building initiatives and strategic plans of more nonprofits who are serving Falmouth. It is up to community members like us to show support and spread the word. By doing so, we will be supporting an organization that is investing in Falmouth today and planning for the future.

Mid-Cape is consistently dedicated to the support of local community members. Now that we have extended our reach to the shores of Falmouth, we are aiming for an even deeper connection within that community. When Mid-Cape and Wood Lumber joined together, Mid-Cape asked former Wood Lumber owners, the Miskells, what cause means the most to them in honor of which we would have a truck wrapped. The Falmouth Fund has a special place in Eileen Miskell’s heart. She loves the work they do and has been a part of it for so many years. Thank you to The Falmouth Fund for what you do in the local community of Falmouth, and we are so excited to now be a part of it.

“We’d like to thank the leadership at Mid Cape Home Centers for giving us an incredible opportunity to increase the awareness of The Falmouth Fund and the impact it has had and will continue to have in our community.”
