For the past several months, Mid-Cape has been raising money for Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. Mid-Cape team members voted for Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center as the non-profit that they wanted to support in the Charter Cup Fishing Tournament that took place July 17th of this year. This is not just an average fishing tournament, no. Each local business participating raises funds for a local non-profit organization. Through contributions of customers and staff alike, Mid-Cape was able to raise over $13,000 to support the efforts of Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center. We were very excited to be a part of this, as it was our first year participating in the tournament. Thank you to E.J. Jaxtimer for inviting Mid-Cape to be a part of their annual Charter Cup Fishing Tournament.

The mission of Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, or CIVOC, is to provide direct support for local veterans. They offer counseling options, financial support, aid to homeless veterans, they’ve even had a house built for homeless veterans, and so much more! Visit their website at www.capeveterans.com to learn more.

The Charter Cup Fishing Tournament this year raised more than $115,000 for a total of eleven local charities and we could not be more grateful to have been able to take part in it. What a great event and fun way to support local causes!
