What is your role at Mid-Cape? Building 4 Supervisor, South Dennis

What led you to a career with Mid-Cape? My 3 brothers worked here and enjoyed it. In 1978 I needed a full time job with benefits so I came to Mid-Cape. Forty years goes by quick!

Describe Mid-Cape in three words: Family, fun, listen

What is your biggest accomplishment at Mid-Cape so far? In 1989 I became the buyer for the window product line. I was given the pleasure of working with a great crew in Building 4. After 15 years we outgrew Building 4 and moved the line to the White’s Path facility in South Yarmouth. I stayed in South Dennis to work in other areas.

What is something working at Mid-Cape has taught you? To listen and learn from your customers and coworkers.

So far, what has been your favorite memory at Mid-Cape? The 15 years in windows. The crew I worked with was awesome. It was like running a small business inside a bigger business. Between ordering, inventorying, making windows for customers to pick up, and deliveries, it was fun. I still have customers come to me looking for window information. I try to tell them if they need to replace or order more windows, the Marvin/Integrity window is a great option. My current Building 4 job is a close second.

What does the Mid-Cape Experience mean to you? No matter what job you’re doing at Mid-Cape, try to have many good days and very few bad days. Soon your coworkers become part of the family and you should enjoy being with your family. Some customers feel like your relatives and you have fun with them also.

What’s the greatest bit of advice a Mid-Cape team member has ever given you? Help and learn from your customers. Without them there is no Mid-Cape. Do your job. -Bill Robinson, Hardware Supervisor, 1978

What is one important skill every person should have? Try to understand what people go through at work and at home. Help if you can, even if it means just to listen.

What is one of the things on your bucket list? To see Hawaii with my wife and daughter.
