What is your role at Mid-Cape? Marvin Windows and Architectural Product Sales

What led you to a career with Mid-Cape? After years of millwork and contractor sales I wanted to work for a company that was focused on building and maintaining customer relationships. I had heard from many people that Mid-Cape was a good company to work for and dedicated to its customers; so, I interviewed back in 2007 and joined the team.

Describe Mid-Cape in three words: Knowledge, Teamwork, Dedication

What is your biggest accomplishment at Mid-Cape so far? I think adapting to the changing industry and new products. Shifting from selling products to providing project solutions.

What is something working at Mid-Cape has taught you? There is always something new to learn in this business.

So far, what has been your favorite memory at Mid-Cape? It’s hard not to mention some great trips touring vendor manufacturing facilities across the country, but one of my favorite memories is from my first year with the company working on a huge house remodel. We had to measure for windows with our kitchen designer to review a structural change to an exterior wall to accommodate the new kitchen.   One of our flooring specialists also joined to work with the kitchen designer and customer.  We ended up getting the window and kitchen sale, flooring for the whole house– as well as siding and roofing. It was great having the different sales departments work together as a team, and the best result was a happy customer.

What does the Mid-Cape Experience mean to you? From the start of a project through final delivery, customers have an experienced staff working with them. Everyone who interacts with a customer or handles their order is dedicated to giving the best service.

What’s the greatest bit of advice a Mid-Cape team member has ever given you? Not to get stressed or dwell on an issue. Solve a problem to the best of your ability and be able to move forward.

What is one important skill every person should have? Know your resources. Its impossible to keep up with all the products available and changes in the industry – you don’t need to have all the answers, just need to know where to find them or who to partner with.   Between our company and our vendor partners are some of the most knowledgeable people in the business.

What is one of the things on your bucket list? My passport got its first stamp last year, so I’d say any opportunity to travel more.
