TimberBatt is a wood fiber insulation that combines sustainability, ease of installation, industry-leading sound dampening, resistance to mold and mildew, and Class A Fire Resistance. Refined FSC-certified softwood fiber treated with borate contributes to TimberBatt’s Class A fire rating and its success in keeping away insects, mold and mildew. This is a highly-dense insulation product that conducts very little heat, resulting in energy efficiency throughout all seasons of the year.
“I was impressed with TimberBatt insulation from the get-go,” Mid-Cape Purchasing Manager Matt Demanche expresses. “Insulation is more top-of-mind than ever before. Wood fiber insulation is brand new to the North American market, but has been popular in Europe for decades. Builders will find the material very easy to work with – It doesn’t itch like traditional fiberglass.” Matt also points out the reduction in environmental impact offered by TimberBatt insulation. “The processes used in making mineral-wool and fiberglass insulations require a lot of heat and energy, while TimberHP uses the waste wood fiber from existing sawmills.” Therefore, it comparatively does not require as much energy during manufacturing. “We feel that with the current focus on insulation products, it is a great opportunity for Mid-Cape to offer a new and innovative insulation option.”
